Chapter 244 Restriction On Stat Points

Disregarding the disapproving murmurs from behind, Raydon confidently stepped forward, his feet sinking into the black earth of the circular training ground. As he stood in the center, he noticed dozens of white-colored rocks positioned around the perimeter, their surfaces emitting a faint luminescence. The very presence of these rocks signaled the activation of the training formation.

\'Are these all items? \' Raydon muttered to himself as he observed these peculiar-looking rocks. Even the number of these rocks alone was in the tens, which made it abundantly clear that this formation was composed of a great deal more items than just these.

*Ding*

After another brief period of time had passed, a holographic system message presented itself to Raydon.

[You have entered a training ground.]

[Training name: Evasion Technique]

[Time until next level: 00:00:60]

[Caution!!! During practice, all stat points will be set to 1.]

[Do you accept?]

\'Oh? I wasn\'t expecting to see the system message here.\' Raydon was taken aback by these system messages. Even though he was aware that an item holder had been the one to create the formation, he found it odd that the system itself recognized and interacted with the formation.

\'\'Yes. \'\'

As soon as Raydon acknowledged the message that the system had given him, he abruptly felt his power flowing into the dark ground that he was standing on. This sensation was the exact opposite of what he had experienced in the past, which was that each time he increased his stats, his body became stronger. Now, however, he felt as though his body was becoming weaker.

Yet, what made it even more peculiar was that this process was not imposed upon him forcefully. The only thing the formation did was instruct him on how to place a boundary on his own body, and he had complete control over when he decided to put an end to the process.

Without resistance, Raydon chose to embrace the gradual withdrawal of power from his body, fully aware that it posed no harm to him. He was aware that the process could be reversed, and that he could always put a stop to it in order to regain his strength as well as the stat points that he had lost.

In addition to this, he was aware that finishing this procedure was an essential step that had to be taken before he could start the training.

*Ding*

Raydon soon heard the system message once more.

[Restriction on stats completed. Training will begin in 3 seconds.]

\'\'What? \'\' Raydon let out a cry of surprise when he noticed a peculiar issue.

[Strength]:  1 - (11)

[Agility]:  1 - (11)

[Stamina]:  100 - (110)

[Luck]:  1 - (11)

[Charisma]:  1 - (11)

[Spirit]:  100 - (110)

He looked at the character panel, and after doing so, he was certain he knew what the issue was. Every one of Raydon\'s stats was reset to 1, with the exception of his spirit and stamina stats, which both remained at 100.

\'\'Stop. \'\' Raydon quickly reclaimed his lost power after removing the restriction on his stat points.

[Restriction on stat points removed. ]

Another message from the system caused the stones that surrounded the training area to lose their luster, and the formation came to an immediate and complete halt.

"Don\'t worry, the formation won\'t cause any harm. It\'s common for everyone to panic during their first time, fearing the loss of their power. You can give it another try," Galen reassured Raydon, misunderstanding that his panic stemmed from the fear of permanently losing his stats.

"You\'re just an F-Rank anyway, so losing a few stat points shouldn\'t bother you," Mell chimed in with a dismissive tone. She never really acknowledged Raydon as a young master, and the fact that she saw something that she interpreted as cowardice only added fuel to her already existing discontentment towards him.

Raydon chose to disregard their misunderstanding and start thinking instead. \'Why did the training begin before putting restrictions on all of my stats?\'

The restriction that the formation placed on Raydon only applied to the ten additional stat points that he had obtained after reaching the E-Rank. It excluded both his basic 1 stat point per attribute and all the extra stat points he had acquired due to his title.

\'It cannot detect the stat points that I have gained through my title? \' Raydon pondered. It was interesting that the training began while his spirit and stamina were still at 100, even though he was aware that in the normal course of events it wouldn\'t start until all of his stats were brought down to the basic 1.

\'I have no idea why this is happening, but it\'s a problem. \' Raydon was thinking as he made his way out of the formation. It was important to him to evaluate the efficacy of his technique, and in order to do so, he had to go through this training in the exact same manner as everyone else. If his stats were not restricted, the training would prove too effortless for him, a circumstance he vehemently wished to avoid.

\'\'If you\'d like, you can give this another shot at a later time. I am aware that for someone who is experiencing it for the first time, the sensation of having power sucked out of their body is not exactly a pleasurable one. \'\' When Galen saw Raydon emerge from the formation with a frown on his face, he voiced his opinion. He clearly didn\'t want him to feel bad, despite the fact that he had just looked down on his family\'s technique.

\'\'It\'s alright, I\'ll try again. \'\' Raydon said, and then he went back inside to reactivate the formation for a second time.

The identical system message appeared once more as soon as Raydon came to a stop in the middle of the training ground, and he promptly accepted the stat block.
